College Football Schedule Week 3
After an explosive start to 2022 college football season, Week 3 will present several top-25 teams with serious challenges. Ohio State returns to Oklahoma, while Lane Kiffin faces his former mentor Nick Saban for a rematch game.

Florida State-Clemson could determine who wins the Atlantic Coast Conference crown while Oregon hosting Washington and Utah visiting BYU could have College Football Playoff implications; furthermore Dana Holgorsen hosts his former team at West Virginia.
Texas-Alabama

On Saturday, Ohio State and Luke Fickell could make headlines. Should Luke Fickell bring Ohio State back to life this season and win the 2024 Big Ten contract, ESPN may want to host GameDay in Columbus for a potential Buckeye-Alabama rematch in Week 8.

how does college football playoffs work and Memphis could provide two games that make this week's late night slate one to keep an eye on, with BYU hosting Baylor, who may become one of their ranked Big 12 rivals, while Arkansas State allowed Michigan 415 passing yards last weekend - two games that should make headlines this week.
Oklahoma-Texas A&M

After an action-packed weekend featuring high-profile ranked-versus-ranked matchups, college football returns to its normal routine this week.

Saturday will feature several major conference battles, such as Notre Dame vs. Ohio State (a rematch from last year's title game) and Clemson against Florida State, Iowa against Wisconsin (potential Big Ten East showdown), Texas A&M hosting Miami to try to rebound after their embarrassing loss against Sun Belt rival Appalachian State; Jimbo Fisher may start freshman quarterback Max Johnson to help facilitate playbacks against ASU.
Oklahoma State-Oklahoma

Cowboys fans should prepare themselves for an intense early-season road test as this game comes right after their bye week and before Big 12 competition begins.

Briefly: Stetson Bennett led Ohio State to an easy victory against Toledo by throwing five touchdown passes and amassing 762 yards in an emphatic performance. Brock Bowers enjoyed an outstanding receiving day with two scores coming his way.

Oklahoma's 2023 schedule features some challenging matches, such as their late trip to BYU. Though college football playoffs doesn't signify much, OU will host newcomers UCF and Houston which could potentially prove challenging opponents.
Alabama-Georgia

Alabama and Georgia will meet up for what could be a pivotal contest this season. Alabama won last year's matchup 63-7, while Auburn boasts new offensive weapons under Lane Kiffin who can make his mark during his inaugural head coaching gig.

college football playoffs adds additional intrigue as a matchup between Big Ten and SEC schools on Saturday afternoon is typically more lucrative for networks to sell in that window; that said, this matchup could go wide open!
Tennessee-Florida

Since 1992 when Florida and Tennessee became SEC East rivals, their longstanding rivalry has blossomed into one of the fiercest in college basketball history. Florida ended Tennessee's winning streak in 2016, winning last year's game on an unlikely Hail Mary play on its final play.

This Week 3 game adds some flair to an otherwise lackluster schedule. On Friday night action, Utah and Baylor square off against one another while Oregon State hosts Iowa in two rematches from wild contests that came down to the wire last season - potentially having major implications on Big Ten title race outcomes as well as setting up Knoxville showdown.
Illinois-Penn State

The 2023 Big Ten schedule promises to be one of the most captivating in recent memory. Can Michigan unseat Ohio State as conference powerhouse, while Penn State finally returns to winning ways after its poor 2020 showing?

Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen scored touchdowns as Penn State defeated Central Michigan in its season opener, airing on FOX 53 Pittsburgh as part of the network's Big Noon Saturday coverage. Additionally, FOX Sports highlighted both Matt Rhule (Nebraska) and Deion Sanders' coaching debuts (Colorado).
Florida State-Clemson

This annual showdown between two in-state rivals has become so big that it has overshadowed Alabama-LSU as an indicator for college football postseason implications. If FSU wants a chance at making the CFP race again, they must win both this game and one other within ACC play - and at least one other ACC matchup as well.

At its heart lies this three-game stretch, beginning with a trip to Boston College for game one of this trifecta, in which losing could make reaching the Coastal title game difficult or even impossible.
Oregon-Washington

Week 3 college football action was more bearable than expected. Texas A&M returned from its shocking home loss against Appalachian State with an upset win against No. 13 Miami and Texas Tech secured another upset victory at home against Appalachian State.

Oregon was also given a boost, with Michael Penix Jr. throwing two touchdown passes and Bo Nix running for one touchdown each to put their win over Washington beyond any doubt. Oregon will look to extend that success when they face off again against Washington later in the month.
Miami-North Carolina

After last weekend's Sun Belt upset-fest, this week's college football schedule has narrowed considerably to offer some compelling matchups - including Miami-North Carolina which could have great ramifications on the ACC Coastal Division race, especially given FSU's strong start.

UNC's inaugural game since the ACC eliminated divisional structures will serve as an excellent test of their talent, while Pitt boasts Israel Abanikanda fresh off a rushing touchdown win against Western Michigan and has an excellent defense unit.
Notre Dame-USC

As Texas takes on Alabama in this week's marquee game, there are also plenty of interesting matches worth keeping an eye on across all conferences. In ACC action there's the intense Cy-Hawk rivalry and Iowa hosting Iowa State; in Pac-12 Oregon takes on Colorado while California meets USC.

ND-USC could have a huge effect on the College Football Playoff race. That is why ABC will broadcast it nationally so everyone can witness it and not let USC sleep through it as happened last season.
