In Of Silent Planet Canvas - King's Re-Release
King's X has been able to, thanks to the recent reissue of Out Of Silent Planet Canvas from 2007 to draw new interest to their amazing album. The remastering process has been cleaned up from the original release, and the tour that follows gives them the chance to present this timeless masterpiece in all its glory.


The deluxe edition features seven more tracks as well as an updated version of Vanish Canvas featuring Spiritbox frontwoman Courtney LaPlante. The track is a homage to a lost loved one and shows the pain of loss, as well being a testament to how it makes us stronger people.


Different from other bands often referred to as metalcore, King's X is not just a set of neck-snapping riffs, and an explosion of noise. Their approach to lyrical writing is what sets them apart and creates the impact that they do on record and in concert. Their unwavering honesty lets their music transcend the realm of sound and makes them an powerhouse to reckon with.


Their latest release, Iridescent, exemplifies their amazing musicianship. Silent Planet Merch meets brutality in this musical tapestry and it's enough to make you completely captivated. This album displays the very best aspects of the band such as a soaring musicianship, heart-rending candidness and a storyline that tugs at your heart strings.


Recently, I had the chance to attend their sold-out show at the House of Blues Los Angeles. It was truly a delight for the senses. Since the first moment they began to play, the audience was fully engaged. As people rushed to get near the stage and exclaim their gratitude, the sporadic audience surfers who were there earlier in the evening became a continuous stream. The sound quality is superb in the stage and the lighting produces spectacular visual effects.



Every note and word that is heard, from the very first track all the way to the closing chorus, is slammed into the listener with uncompromising force. They're relentless and they don't let up until you are at a point of reverence and surrender.


The band is getting more famous with each release. Iridescent showcases all of the band's strengths and strengthens their position as one of metal's most exciting bands.


It's a fantastic album, and is just one notch lower than Gretchen Goes To Nebraska. Take a look if you haven't, and be sure to put it on your list of things to do for the live performances. It's a good investment!
