A tonic-clonic seizure is a type of epilepsy. In a tonic-clonic seizure, a person loses consciousness and their muscles begin to spasm. They may also experience loss of bowel control and confusion.
This type of seizure is usually easy to recognize. However, you must be aware of some important things if you or someone you know is experiencing a tonic-clonic seizure.

Some people will feel better after an hour, while others may have to take several days to return to normal. Generally, they will feel back to their normal self after a tonic-clonic seizure.
