I am Anika Gupta from the colony of Massachusetts and I think that the relationship between the colonies and Great Britain is destructive. I believe that there is not much more that we can gain from each other. Britain is the parent that feeds their child unhealthy information and uses them to gain resources for themselves. Although Great Britain has kept us successful for many years, times are changing and we will be able to progress greatly without being under their rule. Without them we will still be able to keep our connections in trade, supply ourselves with necessary protections and be able to defend ourselves in war. 2. “But Britain is the parent country, some say. If Britain is in fact the parent, then how can they treat America that way. Instead of protecting them in many instances, they have started conflicts. This is an unhealthy relationship between parent and child if thought so. For example, when the troops came from England to the colonies, they came to provide stability and peace but instead caused many incidents like the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, and the Battle of Bunker Hill.
