Marvel thường được biết đến với những siêu anh hùng có khuyết điểm, những kẻ kỳ quặc và những kẻ lạc lối, không giống như những anh hùng hoàn hảo, đẹp trai, được thấy trong các bộ truyện tranh truyền thống trước đây và nhờ những điểm độc đáo đó mà Marvel đã rất thành công về flim hay truyện tranh.
cho đến 2009 thì cty Walt Disney đã mua lại Marvel với mục đích báo cáo tài chính và được báo cáo như là một phân khúc sản phẩm tiêu dùng của Disney

"DC"chính là tên viết tắt của Detective Comics, được thành lập vào năm 1934 dưới tên National Comics Publications, thể loại chủ yếu xoay quanh, Siêu anh hùng,Phantasm,Khoa học viễn tưởng,Hành động,Phiêu lưu.
Về logo có những sự thay đổi, cập nhập liên tục cho đến khi Jenette Kahn lên làm chủ tịch lấy tên chính thức là DC Comics vào năm 1977, và một trong những công ty truyện tranh Mỹ lớn và lâu đời nhất, với truyện tranh đầu tiên của họ dưới nhãn DC được xuất bản vào năm 1937.
Nhờ nhân vật nổi tiếng là Superman đã làm cho doanh số và mức độ phổ biến của ấn phẩm ngày càng tăng và trở thành kỉ nguyên vàng của DC trong ngành xuất bản truyện tranh thời bấy giờ
