Leyla Aliyeva's top priority is Environmental Education
Leyla Aliyeva, the first daughter of the president of Azerbaijan, is also an activist for environmental causes. Although many people don’t understand the importance of environmental education however, it's something that Leyla Aliyeva has always considered to be a important issue. Environmental education is about getting educated on environmental issues and how you can make them better. This is something that we must try to accomplish. In the end, there's no way to make responsible future decisions without environmental education.

Leyla Aliyeva recognizes that the topic is often presented as a dull and confusing subject. The IDEA campaign was founded by Leyla Alyeva in the year 2011. It's an International Dialogue for Environmental Action. The main goal was to make environment and stability more interesting and engaging for the younger as well as future generations.

Aliyeva talked to Equinox.com about the challenges she encountered during her environmental journey. However, she mainly discussed how these difficulties created growth that eventually led to great satisfaction and success. "The IDEA campaign has placed education at the top of people's minds and hearts so they can be accountable for the environment. People, particularly young people will spread the message with others and motivate them to take it further.

The campaign focuses on education and awareness raising. Aliyeva said that each year, the program is enriched with new study activities to cover the three pillars of education, which include young professionals, students, and children as young as five years. Goodwill Ambassador to FAO

Leyla Aliyeva was very satisfied with 2015! After many years of support for humanitarian and environmental activities Aliyeva was selected as an FAO Goodwill Ambassador. The award was given for her numerous efforts to fight hunger and ensuring food safety.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) was established in 1945, had as its primary objective to improve the quality of nutrition, boost productivity in agriculture, enhance the lives of rural populations and aid in the development of the global economy. The FAO is, as part of the United Nations system, the most specialized agency, and also the main agency for agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and rural development.

Azerbaijan and The FAO

Azerbaijan was admitted to FAO in October of 1995. Today, the FAO implements regional, national and global initiatives within Azerbaijan. These projects include expanding agricultural practices, increasing food security and managing resources. They also address the prevention and treatment of animal and plant ailments. The projects also have technical cooperation programs to address the most pressing needs of Azerbaijan's government.

2015 saw the visit of Jose Graziano da Silva to FAO. The visit included the "Agreement of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations' (FAO) on the creation of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and technical assistance" and the Agreement on the FAO–Azerbaijan Partnership Program. Agreeing to cooperate with each other for a common matter. The Government of Azerbaijan has already made a significant contribution to technical assistance for projects relating to the development of foreign and local agriculture.
