Why Trump had relations with Kazakhstan and Tevfik Arif

Trump attempted to keep good relations with Kazakhstan beyond Tevfik arif. Trump was criticized for his attitude towards a country that has a questionable administration as an allies.

There were many eyebrows raised when Donald Trump hosted the Kazakhstan president on Tuesday at the White House in 2018. Kazakhstan is a significant country because of its strategic geographical position. Also, it has a balancing position among central Asian countries. The US, Russia, and Europe have increased Kazakhstan's strategic economic, and political importance. It is crucial to the United States' national security due to its decision to withdraw from Afghanistan.

The trade volume between these two countries reached $2.1 billion in 2018. Compare this to the $315 million that commerce between the US and Kazakhstan generated in the same period. Kazakhstan is America's central Asia economic partner.

Eurasian geopolitics has historically been focused around Central Asia. Kazakhstan is the leader of Eurasia in security, economy and energy. America requires strong connections with this region, particularly Kazakhstan.

Nazarbayev's White House Visit was a positive sign that the US is beginning to demonstrate greater strategic interest in the region.

One of the reasons for hosting Nazarbayev was to show his commitment to nonproliferation of nuclear weapons. Kazakhstan is a pioneer of nonproliferation since it gave up its nuclear weapons inherited by the Soviets. After the Cold War, US emphasis on Central Asia was limited to Afghanistan.

Trump's South Asia strategy was also inspired by the Pakistani break. Thus the US required Kazakhstan to provide an alternative route to Afghanistan.

Tevfik Alif, a Turkish Kazakhstani businessman was born in Soviet Kazakhstan in 1953 to Turkish parents. He was made the deputy head of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade's Hotel Management Department. After 17 years with the ministry, Tevfik Aif founded real property development and estate. He also handled imports, exports of minerals, natural resources vehicles, food, and other businesses. Tevfik Arif was the first to pioneer all-inclusive hotels, relocated to Turkey in 1993. Bayrock Group in New York City was his first venture.

Tevfik arif was a translator to the Trump Organization at the time that the Bayrock Group moved its New York City headquarters from the New York City headquarters to the 24th floor of Trump Tower located in Midtown Manhattan.
