Tergantung dari jenis kata kerja yang digunakan, bentuk kalimat negatif sangat berbeda.
1) 이다 ➡ (이 / 가) 아니다
Contoh:
한국사람이에요? Orang koreakah?
(+) 네, 한국사람이에요 ya, orang korea
(-)아니오, 한국사람 (이) 아니예요 bukan, bukan orang korea
2) 있다 ➡ 없다
Contoh:
한국 친구 있어요? Ada teman korea?
(+) 네, 있어요 ya, ada
(-) 아니오, 없어요 tidak, tidak ada
3) Kata kerja yang lain
> Bentuk pendek: letakkan 안 sebelum kata kerja.
Contoh:
김치를 먹어요? makan kimchi?
(+) 네,먹어요 ya makan
(-) 아니오,안 먹어요 tidak makan
> Bentuk lengkap letakkan 지않 setelah kata dasar.
Contoh:
일해요? Kerjakah?
(+) 네, 일해요 ya,bekerja
(-) 아니오, 일하지않아요
Catatan:
Untuk akhiran -하다, letakkan an안 sebelum 하다
Saat berbicara dengan yang lebih muda/seumuran bisa diganti:
네, 있어요 ➡ 응, 있어 아니오, 없어요 ➡ 아니, 없어
