---------------------------------------------------Storm ready FAQS---------------------------------------

How does Storm-Ready WiFi work?

The Xnity Storm-Ready WiFi device provides backup internet service and WiFi signal if your Xnity
Gateway is unable to provide service. If the Xnity Storm-Ready device detects that your Gateway is no
longer receiving an internet signal, the Xnity Storm-Ready device is intended to automatically enable a
4G LTE cellular back-up and broadcast a replacement WiFi internet signal for your home network.

What Xnity Gateways are compatible?
Storm-Ready WiFi will work with XB7 or XB8 Gateway models only at launch.

Who is eligible for Storm-Ready WiFi?
Storm-Ready WiFi is available to Superfast (800/20 Mbps) and above customers who lease an XB7
or XB8 Gateway. Lower-tiered customers are currently not eligible.

How much does it cost?
Customers who lease an XB7 or XB8 Gateway can add Storm-Ready WiFi for $7/month for
36 months ($252 when paid-in-full).

Are the devices going to be sold separately? Does the battery work with the modem by itself?
The Storm-Ready WiFi Extender and Battery backup devices are sold together.

Would customers have to re-establish WiFi connection to connected devices?
No. In a power outage, only devices that have batteries will work. Storm-Ready WiFi will
automatically become the gateway failover and becomes gateway for the home. It provides
more WiFi than a hotspot would.

Does the Extender work when there’s no power outage?
Yes! When there’s no outage, the Storm Ready device acts as a WiFi extender, similar to a Pod.

What is the speed compared to regular internet service?
The Storm-Ready WiFi device provides backup WiFi up to 30/7 Mbps within the customer’s home. It’s the
same WiFi connection the customer already has, but at 4G LTE speeds.

Where should customers place the device?
For best optimization, the device should be plugged in more than 5 feet, but no more than 30 feet away
from the Xnity Gateway.

How can a customer pair the device?
Storm-Ready WiFi uses Bluetooth to pair a mobile device. Pairing should take 15 mins.

How can a customer pair the device?
Storm-Ready WiFi uses Bluetooth to pair a mobile device. Pairing should take 15 mins.

Does a customer need to have Xnity Mobile for SRW to work?
No.

Can employees get devices through XPE aer the full launch?
Yes! XPE-eligible employees will get the standard 20% o Storm-Ready WiFi and can purchase either with
equipment installment plan (EIP) or Paid-in-Full (PIF). Eligible Comcast employees should check
availability for the Storm-Ready device on the XPE portal, and place orders through the XPE portal.
What if a Superfast customer does not have an eligible Gateway but would like to purchase

Storm-Ready WiFi?
Customers with incompatible Gateway models must rst complete a swap, then
they can purchase Storm-Ready WiFi.

How do you position the backup cellular network to customers?
Lean into the reliable connection provided by Xnity:
“Stay reliably connected through network or power outages with unlimited cellular data and a battery
backup. Only with Xnity. The home of the 10G Network.”

Why is it a 36-month payment plan instead of the 24 months for XM and other products?
It’s a 36-month plan to get the device’s monthly payment under $10/month as an attractive value.

How does this work with WiFi Boost Ppds?
This device is compatible with XE2 Pods, not XE1s, and as part of the activation customers are instructed
to remove any XE1 Pods. This device is also being placed for LTE signal as opposed to coverage gaps,
so there will still be a need for Pods when the location for LTE signal strength doesn’t align
with Wi coverage gaps.

Can you set up the Storm-Ready devices next to existing WiFi pods?
Yes, however, the coverage technology is better than a pod so if Storm-Ready is placed directly next to a
pod the customer will likely no longer need that pod.

How does the extender feature work? Does it have to be turned on/off for the battery backup
to kick in?
The extender benefit works like that of a pod, no call to action to activate the extender feature and
devices will attach automatically.

Will the device be part of the self-install kit box that ships or a separate package?
When the Storm-Ready device is shipped with other CPE it will come in an overpack box.

Can customers purchase multiple batteries at launch?
No. Customers will receive one battery with their purchase for the time being.

Is battery usage impacted by the number of devices connected?
No.

Are bulk customers eligible to add on Storm-Ready WiFi to their account?
No. Storm-Ready WiFi isn’t currently supported by BAU buy-ows.

Are WiFi Boost Pods compatible with Storm-Ready WiFi?
First generation (XE1) Pods are not compatible with Storm-Ready WiFi. Second generation (XE2) Pods are
compatible and will pair with Storm-Ready WiFi to continue providing whole home WiFi coverage during
an outage.

What is the device swap process for gateways?
If a customer wants to uptier and add Storm-Ready WiFi, follow the Gateway swap process.

What is the warranty on a Storm-Ready WiFi device?
Both the XLE device and battery will be covered under the one-year hardware warranty policy.

What happens to the Storm-Ready WiFi device and EIP when an account is put on
a seasonal account?
The Storm-Ready WiFi device will reconnect to the gateway once an account is reactivated from
seasonal hold. The customer will be required to continue making EIP payments during the seasonal hold.

What happens if Storm-Ready WiFi customer downgrades to FAST+ with an XB7 or XB8?
The device will continue to function as long as the customer keeps a compatible (XB7 or XB8) gateway.
