Present Perfect tense: From a point of past to the present
REMEMBER THIS MEANS FROM UP TO NOW
Terms to use with it (keywords): Since ex. We have been studying since 10 o'clock, I have been in Concordian since 2009.
Period of time: for 2 years, for 5 weeks, for 6 months etc. For [time] [units]
Have, has is one of the main terms in for present perfect.
I [perfect] been [doing what] [perfect 2] [time].
My example sentence: I have been learning Chinese since 2007.
Present you need to use have or has, have is for first person, has is for third person
Had is a different tense it is the Past perfect tense: It means that there were two points back in the past for example, something that I did before but I stop. This uses the had word to explain that
I had been [doing what] [until or any words describing already stop] [time].
ex. I had been learning Japanese until 2012.
So it means that I learned Japanese but stop at 2012 which is 3 years ago.
