Animal Farm
In the book "Animal Farm" written by George Orwell a Russian revolution took over and went wrong. This novel demonstrates an excellent example of violence and threats that frequently occurred throughout the novel. Violence is one of the knots in which the animals wish to free themselves when they prepare for the rebellion.

In chapter 4 paragraph 10 it quotes "He is dead," said Boxer sorrowfully. "I had no intention of doing that. I forgot that I was wearing iron shoes. Who will believe that I did not do this on purpose?" Boxer believes that he has accidentally killed a boy in the utter confusion, expresses his regret at taking a life, even though it is a human one. Snowball tells him not to feel guilty, asserting that, “The only good human being is a dead one.” At this point in the novel Snowball is convinced in the sanctity of their cause. Within minutes the invasion was in a retreat and all the men were gone expect for one. Boxer had seemed to be pawing with his hoof at a young boy trying to turn him over with his face down to the mud but he did not move.

"And even the miserable lives we lead are not allowed to reach their natural span. For myself I do not grumble, for I am one of the lucky ones. I am twelve years old and have had over four hundred children. Such is the natural life of a pig. But no animals escapes of cruel knife in the end." This is mentioned in chapter 1. Old Major has gathered a meeting, talking about the great rebellion. Violence is initially presented as an act against on the part of the humans. Once the pigs realized they started to gain control of the animals, they, discover how useful violence and terror can be and end up using it to their full advantage.

"Beasts of England, beasts of Ireland, Beasts of every land and clime, Hearken to my joyful tiding Of the golden future time." These are the opening lines in which encourages all the animals quickly and once Napolean rules, he declares it to be forbidden. The rebellion has now ended and a replacement has been found. This now signifies violence controlling their fear. This is from the Beasts of England song that the animals all sing after the revolution in the end.

In conclusion, from the start to the end of this novel you see major themes and one of them known as violence.
