Georgia College Football Schedule 2024
Georgia Bulldogs football has been on a dominant roll over recent seasons, winning back-to-back national championships under Kirby Smart and winning consecutive SEC East division titles. Looking ahead, their schedule appears favorable for another College Football Playoff appearance and they look set for another successful season under Kirby.

But they will need to earn it; Texas and Alabama will both play on the road this season, challenging Georgia.
SEC

Texas and Oklahoma will face an uphill climb as SEC officials release its 2024 schedule on Wednesday, but traditional rivalries and competitive balance remain at the heart of SEC scheduling priorities. It remains to be decided if divisions will be reinstated in football or whether all sports will use an eight-game conference schedule like previously. Still, it was evident that SEC officials prioritized protecting traditional rivalries while keeping it balanced among member schools when creating this conference's schedules.

Current TV rights agreements of the SEC require each team to play two non-conference games during its regular season, with ESPN airing one game per week of regular season playback; additionally, CBS will televise all football and men's basketball matches of this conference.

During its divisional era, the SEC permitted each team two permanent inter-division opponents, enabling several of its storied rivalries - such as Florida vs Georgia and Auburn vs Mississippi State - to continue. Unfortunately, competition among top programs often left some teams faring too well against one another; complaints from coaches ultimately led to a decrease in this number of permanent opponents.

Nick Saban made it clear he wanted the SEC to uphold Alabama's annual rivalries, and they did just that. Alabama will face Texas at home and Oklahoma away while opting out of competing with LSU and Tennessee instead taking on Kentucky and Ole Miss instead.
Big 12

After much anticipation, the Big 12 unveiled their 2023 schedule on Tuesday. With BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF joining this season and Texas and Oklahoma's departure for SEC competition two years later, the league will expand from 13 teams to 14. This schedule features some tantalizing matchups.

West Virginia Mountaineers will face tough competition, beginning their campaign with trips to Penn State and an intraconference rivalry game against West Virginia to begin the year. But it's the back-to-back games against SEC teams like Texas and Tuscaloosa which really highlight how tough their schedule will be - placing Kirby Smart up against an uphill battle for conference championship.

On the other hand, Oklahoma will face an extremely challenging schedule as well. Their nonconference slate features matches against Florida and BYU - two challenging opponents which may put an early dent in their pursuit of their sixth straight national championship title.

TCU's conference slate is also demanding. In Week 3, TCU will take on Big 12 newcomer Houston before traveling to Texas Tech and Baylor later in the season - an immense task for any team.
American Athletic Conference

The American is one of the hottest college football conferences, boasting some incredibly talented teams such as Kirby Smart's Georgia squad looking to capture its third straight national championship and Nick Saban attempting to return Alabama to Alabama's perch at the top of conference rankings. Additionally, 2023 could bring many contenders that make an impression within this conference.

The American Conference's schedule features several marquee nonconference games on linear networks. Tulane will face Ole Miss in Week 2, airing live on ESPN2. Additionally, Charlotte visits Rutgers while Temple plays at Maryland in home games against Big Ten opponents; opening its league schedule with UAB (September 30) and finishing it up against North Texas (November 24 or 25) are some of these highlights.

In 2023, The American will host some enticing intraconference match-ups that stand out, such as UTSA facing Army from San Antonio at Alamodome on Sept 14 and Navy visiting Memphis on Dec 9. Additionally, College Football Playoff Schedule could potentially switch from Saturday to Black Friday during Thanksgiving weekend and become part of its Friday-night slate.
Sun Belt

The Sun Belt Conference has earned itself a reputation for providing some of the most entertaining college football action, and the 2023 Sun Belt weekly schedule features several key matches which could shape its future success as "Fun Belt" football.

James Madison, which tied for the East Division championship last season, opens its schedule with an away match at Virginia before travelling to Troy and Utah State before hosting Sun Belt foe ULM as well as playing South Alabama at home later in the schedule.

After two midweek games, the Golden Eagles will complete their regular-season schedule by traveling to Southern Miss on October 17. Meanwhile, Louisiana and their Jaguars won't meet again until November 2.

Notable Sun Belt games on the 2023 schedule include home match-ups with Georgia State and Conference USA newcomer Texas-Arlington (which will become eligible to compete in football by 2014). These matches should provide plenty of action-packed matches.

In addition to offering an engaging out-of-conference schedule, the Sun Belt features games against Power Five programs. There are 15 such matches scheduled across its 14 teams this season - more than any other Group of Five conference! Last season alone, seven Sun Belt teams made bowl appearances.
