An earthquake is the shaking of the Earth's surface caused by a sudden release of energy in the Earth's lithosphere, which generates seismic waves. It is also referred to as a quake, tremor, or temblor. However, you must be aware of what you do beforehand, during, and after. should be carried out when an earthquake occurs.
Set up a first aid kit. Prepare a bag that contains ready-to-eat food, water, a flashlight, and batteries. Ensure that you are aware of the barangay's evacuation center. Radio or television catch up. GET OUT of the kitchen immediately; it's a hazardous area where objects could fall on you. DON'T rush downstairs or outside when the building is shaky or while there is a chance that you could fall and damage yourself or get hit by glass or other falling objects.If you are outside, get into the OPEN and away from any potential hazards like chimneys, electricity lines, and buildings.
When stopping while driving, proceed with caution. Put your car as far from the flow of traffic as you can. A bridge, an overpass, a tree, a lamp post, a power line, or a sign are all inappropriate places to halt. When your car begins to shake, STAY INSIDE. Watch for cracks in the pavement, thrown rocks, and ridges in the road at bridge approaches when you RETURN to driving.
Watch alert for falling rock, landslides, trees, and other debris that could be released by earthquakes if you are in a mountainous area.
