Tonic clonic seizures are a type of seizures that affect both adults and children. The seizures cause sudden loss of consciousness and stiffening of the muscles.

When your child is experiencing a tonic clonic seizure, a ketogenic diet may be recommended to reduce the frequency of the seizures. Your healthcare provider may also give your child antiepileptic medicine to prevent further seizures.
