In the UK there are more than 600,000 people with epilepsy, many of whom need regular night time checks by their carers. This can be a time consuming and intrusive activity for both carers and the person affected.

To combat this we offer a range of bed sensors designed to detect movements associated with seizures. These can be a useful addition to care homes or hospitals and can be integrated with telephone auto diallers, nurse call systems and community alarms, providing peace of mind for both carers and individuals.

Epliepsy bed sensors have been shown to be reliable for detecting convulsive seizures with sensitivity comparable to that of EEG, whilst having low false alarm rate (FAR). They can be used in conjunction with other monitoring devices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients and carers alike.

Emfit Movement Monitor
The Emfit bed movement sensor is a clinically proven system that is specifically designed to detect abnormal movements within the sleep environment and alerts a carer when it happens. It is suitable for both adults and children, and can be installed under the mattress alongside a bedside monitor.

Sensitivity adjustment can be made to suit individual requirements, helping to reduce the number of false calls. It is also designed to detect a wider range of movements than other bed movement sensors, making it more suitable for people with epilepsy who may not have been diagnosed as having tonic-clonic seizures yet. seizure monitor
