2022 College Football Today Schedule
As college football begins its 2022 campaign on Saturday, networks have plenty to choose from in Week 0 games this weekend. CBS offers up the most compelling action with Nebraska hosting Northwestern and Colorado-TCU rematch in Boulder as two standouts.

Other highlights this weekend include Notre Dame at Navy and Florida State against Duquesne on the ACC Network.
Nebraska at Northwestern

This Saturday kicks off the 2022 college football season and it promises an action-packed opening weekend of Week 0. Nebraska and Northwestern faceoff for national attention; but there are many other compelling matches on Saturday's full slate that may pique your interest.

Nebraska attempts an onside kick, only for Arizona State to retrieve it deep inside their territory and take control with nine minutes left in the third quarter. They still trail 28-17.

4:21 p.m. -- Northwestern's interception appears to be the final straw in Nebraska's struggling offense under Scott Frost and appears to have put an abrupt end to its offensive success.

Ohio State's defense is keeping pace with Northwestern's offense, which has held up well despite quarterback Casey Thompson having an off night. On their third consecutive drive, Miyan Williams scored on a 27-yard run en route to giving Ohio State a 21-10 halftime advantage.
Florida State at Duquesne

Florida State Seminoles can make a statement this season with one of their marquee games - Week 0 at home against Duquesne (FCS level, Northeast Conference member like Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut State), who boasted 7-3 overall record last season including beating Ohio University 7-3! This could be their moment.

FSU should easily dominate Dukes in this matchup, boasting a solid combination of talent at skill positions led by quarterback Jordan Travis and running backs Trey Benson and Lawrance Toafili who should all play an instrumental role in running effectively and taking pressure off of FSU's defense.

FSU posted eight sacks and three pass breakups during its preseason defense, signaling its potential as a strength. Top cornerback Omarion Cooper didn't dress for today's game due to an injured shoulder, giving a chance for true freshman Azareye'h Thomas to start in his place.

The Seminoles must avoid being caught off-guard against lesser competition in their schedule of Power Five matches in coming weeks, and keeping games close early and pulling ahead late should help to guarantee victory.
North Carolina at Florida A&M

This will be an epic battle between the last two ACC national champions. North Carolina features impressive talent such as quarterback Drake Maye while Vanderbilt boasts plenty of depth under first-year head coach Billy Napier. Nashville can be a hostile environment for visiting teams; therefore the victor will likely increase their odds for making a New Year's Six bowl game.

FAMU competed admirably despite losing 20 players due to NCAA eligibility issues, maintaining competitive edge for much of its match against North Carolina. Although College Football Playoff Schedule was hindered by British Brooks' absence, freshman Curtis Roberts and Illinois All-America candidate Jer'Zhan Newton each contributed productive nights for FAMU while its defense held back Tar Heels for long stretches.

This was a good test for Jimbo Fisher's revamped Seminoles, who looked disjointed against South Florida in their season opener. A win against the reigning conference champions would be enormously significant in his tenure in Tallahassee; but for it to come off, his team must produce an outstanding effort against an exciting spread-option offense like that found under Jamey Chadwell - one of last year's marquee coaches who also boasts national relevance - it should make for an intriguing matchup between two Group Five programs!
Hawaii at Vanderbilt

College football returned this week, and some teams got off to a strong start. Hawaii hosted one such contest when retooled Hawaii Rainbow Warriors team met Vanderbilt Commodores at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletic Complex for a season opener filled with suspenseful possibilities.

After an uneven first half that saw both teams combine for only 10 points, Vanderbilt surged in the third quarter by outscoring Hawaii 35-0 thanks to two defensive touchdowns on each side of the ball.

On offense, the Commodores continued their momentum by scoring six more touchdowns in the fourth quarter - led by Mike Wright who finished with 309 total yards (96 rushing and 17 passing).

Hawaii came into this game hopeful of earning a bowl appearance. Last season, they went 6-7 with victories against Portland State, New Mexico State (twice), Fresno State and Colorado State among their victories.

Timmy Chang takes over with plenty of work ahead. One of the least experienced teams in the nation, returning only six starters from last season and ranking 130th overall talent, but coach Clark Lea has time to remake this program in his image.
