Why Choose Chiswick Door and Window?
In the past, chiswick door and window has supplied a range of timber sash windows including draft proofing complete renewal and redecoration. It also provides windows made of aluminium that are energy efficient to homes in the region.
The domes of the octagonal, Upper Tribunal, and Lower Tribunal of Chiswick Villa were likely inspired by Andrea Palladio's reconstruction of the octagonal of the mausoleum in Diocletian's Palace, Split, Croatia.
Sash Windows
Our Sash window range is a great choice for any property, but especially period homes. They are energy efficient and keep your home warm throughout the winter months. They are available in a wide range of colours and styles to fit any style of home. They can also be supplied with a variety of glass options to suit your requirements.
This large room, designed by Lord Burlington and situated on the piano Nobile in 1715, is a great example of Palladian Revival architecture and is one of the most beautiful rooms in the villa. The room has a high ceiling and is decorated with carvings of Corinthian Capitals (references are made to Rome's Temple of Castor & Pollux). This is a symbol of aristocratic patronage of the arts. The space was a social hub and was used for entertaining guests, hence the presence of two carved lions on the opposite side of the entrance.
The octagonal Library was the second of Lord Burlington's reconstructed structures. It was inspired by Palladio's"Temple" and is among the most important rooms within the villa. Twelve steps lead from the Octagonal Library to an octagonal brick vaulted cellar in an Early English style. Wine and beer would be brought by waiters who were dumb to the cellar to be used by of the guests at the piano nobile.
William Kent decorated this room by creating the spaces between Diocletian's windows using paintings. Kent replaced the Inigo-Jones's busts with small panels and also added cherubs on the pediments made of stone.
The Library, like the other rooms in the villa, was influenced by Palladio’s Templo. It was one of the most important rooms of the house. The room features a high ceiling as well as four large sash windows and two pairs of French doors. The 'herms,' which are derived from the Greek god Hermes were placed on the portico to welcome guests to the villa.
A new replacement timber sash window as well as the front door were constructed from finger-jointed pine, with two colour finishes white on the inside and Farrow and Ball 'Brassica' on the outside. This included a factory-fitted cat flap, Yale night latch with maximum security and deadlock, as well as a Victorian style letterbox.
Composite Doors
Composite doors are an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-quality modern door that requires minimal maintenance and is efficient in energy use. These doors consist of a mix of materials that creates a thicker, stronger door. They look fantastic and can last for 35 years. They are also less expensive to maintain than timber or uPVC.
They resemble wood, but they have the advantage of not needing repainting or painting, and are weatherproof. They are available in a wide selection of styles and colours with a choice of glazing options to suit your home. They are designed to fit comfortably within the frame, eliminating draughts.
IQ Glass transformed a five-bedroom suburban home into a sustainable home for a family by installing traditional bay windows using custom-designed windows and structural glass.
The project involved the complete refurbishment and expansion of this property located in Chiswick. IQ Glass supplied bespoke structural glass units and a range of brand new aluminium casement windows and doors for the main and guest bedrooms as well as the kitchen extension.
These doors are a popular option to the traditional wooden front door. They offer a high level of security and require less maintenance. They are constructed with an ultra-low or high-density foam core and GRP (glass reinforced plastic) skin. They are manufactured to precisely your measurements to ensure they fit perfectly and are safe from draughts.
door specialists chiswick are available in a wide selection of styles and colours, including an oak effect, which is a favourite with customers. They are available with a variety of glass options and are fitted with a strong magnet to stop the doors from slamming during windy weather. They also come with a bespoke "finger safe" seal that is inserted between the door's leaflets, so they cannot be opened by children.
The doors are painted with a color in the factory and baked using infrared. This makes them durable and resistant to UV rays as well as other environmental elements that can cause paint to fade. They can be cleaned to keep them looking bright and clean, but they shouldn't be painted since this could impact the strength of the door and could be a breach of any warranty.
Flush Bespoke Doors
Unlike panel doors The flush doors are constructed from a single piece of material. They are flat on their front and back, that's why they have a name in the construction industry. However, they do not limit the design options available for the door. This type of door can still be enhanced with carved details, woodgrain finishes or even glass panels.
These elements will give visual interest to your flush door and will complement the decor of your home. These doors are popular for interior use in homes with modern or minimalist styles, but they can also work well for traditional and rustic styles.
The simplest way to make your unique flush door stand out is by choosing an intense color for its veneer. This will instantly brighten your room and match the theme of your decor. You can also pick a woodgrain finish that mimics natural textures for your door.
Unfinished style is another option for enhancing your flush door. This allows you to paint or stain the door to match your desired aesthetic. You can also choose a flush door that has an already-applied finish that will make it easier to finish the installation.
The doors come with a factory-applied paint, veneer or laminate. They can be customised to match your home's decor. They have a consistent appearance and are more energy efficient than other types.
Some doors have the solid center to increase their soundproofing capabilities. This type of door is made by putting a series of lengths of wood vertically into a cellular center, with each void not exceeding 25 cm2. The planks are then encased with a plywood sheet, cross band or face veneer to complete the final product.
There are a variety of bespoke security features in this kind of window, including hinges, locks, and handles designed to keep your home safe from intruders. In addition, a bespoke aluminium window can enhance the appearance of your home and increase its energy efficiency. This is an excellent alternative for homes with traditional windows in need of a new upgrade.
Aluminium Windows
As well as being able to transform the appearance of homes with their sleek lines and minimalist style aluminium windows also come with the benefit of being energy efficient. They can help keep your home warm in the winter and cool during the summer, meaning you'll save money on your electric bills.
Contrary to some uPVC frames, which are often made up of timber on the inside and aluminum on the outside (which is not always secure) frames made of aluminium are typically made from a solid, single piece of material, giving them more strength. The aluminum is coated with a strong, weatherproof paint. This means that they won't have to be painted as frequently as uPVC frames.
Aluminium is a material that can be recycled which makes it a great choice for eco-conscious home improvement. It also has great thermal properties, which help to keep your home warm during the winter months and cool in the summer.
The days when aluminium windows were regarded as not being as energy efficient as uPVC ones are over, with new-builds now required to meet the stringent requirements set out in Part Q of Building Regulations (and also through the industry's Secured By Design standards). Modern aluminium frames come with an insulated core, which contains Aerogel, a material used to insulate spacesuits as well as space shuttles. This reduces the loss of heat.
There are different types of aluminium windows, depending on their working and opening. For example, side-hung opening windows feature hinges on both the right and left side of the frame with the window handle located at the bottom. They are popular with traditional and contemporary homes, because they are more convenient to open and close than tilt 'n' turn options.
Tilt 'n' turn opening windows feature a unique operating mechanism that allows the window to tilt to allow airflow while offering a clear view of the outside. They are an excellent option for rooms located on the ground floor or other easily accessible areas where you may need to limit the window's opening for security reasons.
