Notes

It was a quiet day, around 4 in the afternoon. Molly was at home in her room, just reading at her desk when there was a quick knock at her door. "Come in!", Molly shouts towards the door. Her mother cracks open the door before opening it fully. "Molls, It's such a nice day today. Are you sure you don't want to go outside with friends? Or maybe you could join me to the store. Molly looked at her mother before glancing at her book, then back at her mother. "I'm alright here mom, but thank you for inviting me. What are you going to get?" Her mother sighed and shook her head slightly, "I'm just going to get some bread and a few other things, then I'll be heading to get your brother from his practice with dad." Molly was listening but she had went back to reading her back, "Oh alright mom, tell them I said 'Hi' please. And would it be okay if I asked for candy from the store?", Molly asked. Her mother took a moment to think and nodded her head in agreement. "Yes, that's fine. Those Hersey Drops, right?" "Yes ma'am, the cookie and cream ones please." Her mother took a deep breath, said "okay", and left to the store, leaving Molly home alone. As soon as she heard her mother car drive off, she hopped up from her desk and ran downstairs to the fridge. She decided that since she didn't go with her mother and she had seemed sad about it, that she'd make dinner that night. She started to gather ingredients and all the the tools, pots, and pans necessary before getting to work. She couldn't cook too many things so she just decided to make spaghetti and meatballs for her family, so it was a favorite in the house anyways. A few hours pass and as Molly is finishing up, she hears music, her mom's car and garage opening. She has to hurry and make everyone's plate if she wants this to be perfect. She's dashing around the kitchen, making everyone's plate but her own. She places them all at the dinner table in their corresponding spots just as her family comes through the door. They smell the food immediately but their faces are.. sad? 'Is-Is something wrong? Does it smell bad?" Molly asks, slightly panicked. "No, nothing wrong the smell and I'm sure nothing wrong with it at all. It's just that, we got takeout on our way back home
