The word purity is barely ever used, even in the modern church. From includes on TV and social media, to strolling through the local shopping centre, or even taking a walk on the beach.

We have all been sold a number of lies. We have actually been drip-fed lies. As we age, we become desensitized, and the lies end up being more and more enhanced in our thinking.

## The Worlds Big Lie vs Gods Standards

God sets an extremely high standard when it concerns sexual purity. He knows our level of temptation in this area and how quickly a guy can fall away. Men are aroused by what they see and can maintain sexual image in the recesses of their minds for weeks, months, even years.

## The Road To Ruin is Wide and Easy

We make excuses and let in more than a tip. We enable ourselves a couple of extravagances now and once again. In the same way we permit ourselves indulgences of sexual gratification.

As time passes, and as we continue to permit ourselves these little indulgences, a routine is formed. Our belief system is jeopardized. 'It's no big deal,' we tell ourselves. 'Everyone does it.' 'It will not harm me,' 'I only do it occasionally.' Ultimately, we have allowed in a lot more than a tip of sexual immorality.

For numerous, a long-lasting struggle has now started in the heart and mind that is not quickly overcome.
As sexual sin infiltrates the mind, with time, it begins to captivate one's heart.

## Can We Change and have Advancement?

How do men find advancement in this location of their lives? The answer is found in God's Word.

In Romans 1, verse 25. There are 2 parts to this verse.

### Part 1

That is, overtime, we have developed beliefs and presumptions about God that are incorrect. These lies permeate, we begin to act on these wrong beliefs.

Sadly, we began out our Christian journey thinking that God is all that we require, and He can be all pleasing. We start to think the lie that we require to look somewhere else for complete satisfaction.

Advancement comes as we turn back to God and think His word. God's word is truth, and as we push into Him and seek after Him above all else, we begin to believe once again that liberty and success over this sin is possible.

### Part 2

The 2nd part of Romans 1:12 says that we have 'worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator.' This is the heart of the problem. Our heart is no longer sold out for God. Rather, it is divided. As our company believe the lies that 'everybody does it, its no big deal, nobody can really stroll a pure life,' we allow compromise. We are now worshiping God and worship desire at the same time. We are doing what God explicitly advised the Israelites not to do. We are worshiping the idols of the world around us. We are now on a slippery slide away from worship of the true God towards potential destruction.

If we are to discover breakthrough in this area, we need to identify that this is a heart problem. We need to be so mesmerized by God, that we no longer desire sin in our lives. When our heart is sold out for God, we start to dislike sin, we dislike it. Why would we select sin when our hearts are completely pleased by the almighty God who enjoys us and is there for us, even in our darkest moments?

## Our Breakthrough Comes Through Jesus Christ

Advancement involves understanding who we are as followers. We are children of God. This is our position in God and this does not change. We all have a position in our families. We are fathers, boys, daughters, and grandchildren. Positionally, we are God's own kids and daughters. He likes us as His own adopted Kid. We belong to Him and He does not stop liking us. We are unfaithful, He remains devoted. For improvement to happen, we should have a total understanding of who we are as His kids. Our identity, values and purpose are more plainly defined from the position of who we are as kids of God.

The fact is, Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). His grace is sufficient for us, even in our present scenario and struggles (2 Corinthians 12: 9). Jesus conquered sin as soon as for all and he made a way for us to stand firm and overcome in the midst of trials and temptation (2 Corinthians 10: 13). There is hope for every one of us. As followers we are not destined to dwell in a continuous cycle of sin. We must find our strength in Jesus and if we put the word of God to the test, we will discover in it the fact we need to experience flexibility and victory so that we can honestly state 'I am not permitting even a hint of sexual immorality in my life.'
