Ia dididik oleh ayahnya yang merupakan orang berpendidikan, jauh sebelum Cheviot dibantai oleh sahabatnya sendiri. Kematian ayahnya mengubah lingkungan Deanna dari tipe anak gadis kesayangan ayah menjadi yatim piatu. Hal ini membuatnya keras dalam melihat apa saja, dan menjadi lebih pendiam dari sebelumnya.
Background Story: Anak tunggal. Ayahnya, Daniel Wood, merupakan bekas pengajar. Kesukaannya membaca dan mendalami ilmu apapun menurun pada Deanna. Selepas kematian ayahnya, Deanna memutuskan untuk tetap tinggal di Cheviot. Tadinya ia ingin pergi dari tempat itu karena mimpi buruk akan bayang-bayang penyerangan kaum Argenthorn selalu menghantuinya. Tapi ayahnya sering berpesan agar ia jangan pernah meninggalkan tanah kelahirannya.
