Beats Studio3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones Review
Beats Studio3 Wireless Noise Cancelling over Ear Headphones provide a comfortable fit and premium feel and also excellent audio quality. They have excellent noise cancellation and a long battery life. They are compatible with iOS and Android devices, and are simple to connect.
The headphones are equipped with Apple's W1 chips which make it easy to pair the headphones and switch between Apple products. This is a major benefit for Apple users.
Sound
The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones are quite a change from the original model. They're a bit lighter and more comfortable, with a more sleek design and Pure Adaptive Noise Cancellation, which reduces low-frequency noise and helps you concentrate. There are additional features, including a built-in microphone, making the headphones ideal for phone calls.
The sound quality is exactly what you would expect from Beats headphones. While Beats headphones are known as being too bassy, they're not. The Studio3s are a balanced and clear with clear, crisp vocals and precise instruments.
They're not quite as impressive as a premium pair of cans like Bose's, however they're far superior to the Studio2 Wireless. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is great for reducing ambient sounds to let you concentrate on your music, but it's not perfect. For example it's not as effective in removing the sound of a plane like true ANC headphones and you can hear low-mid frequencies even when ANC is turned off.
The Studio3s can be controlled using a the central button that is located behind the Beats logo on the left ear cup. A single press plays and pauses the music, while triple and double presses allow you to skip tracks or go back. The button is surrounded by volume controls embedded in the ring of plastic.
These headphones automatically pair with your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad if you're part of the Apple ecosystem. They also link to iCloud. They can be used with other Bluetooth devices, too, and you can switch between them quickly with no audio-visual lag. The Bluetooth connection is stable and strong, with a good distance and no dropouts.
The Studio3s have an impressive battery life. With ANC and wireless you can listen for a total of 22 hours. This is more than double that of the previous model. You can connect the 3.5mm plug to keep listening even when the battery runs out.
Design
The Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones look similar to what they were three years ago, but are packed with the latest technology. They're loaded with Apple's W1 communications chip, which allows for effortless pairing and switching between iOS devices, like an iPhone or iPad. The headphones are also quick charging. 10 minutes of power will give 3 hours of playback.
The headphones have an over-ear design which sits comfortably around the ears. The headphones are available in Shadow Gray or Porcelain Rose. They are also available in Matte Black, Matte White, Red, and Blue. The headset's ear cups are lined with soft cushions and have a an a little rubbery feel that may not be for everyone's tastes however, it's comfortable for long periods of time. The headband is more snug and makes for a great seal, but it's also padded and soft.
A small button on the left outer ear cup controls the basic functions, such as accepting calls and playing music. The buttons below and above the Beats logo alter the volume, while double tapping can advance songs or change tracks. The headset also features a tiny bottom-mounted multi-function button that allows you to turn the headphones on and off, enable ANC by holding down two taps and puts the headphones into pairing mode by holding it down for just a few seconds. The headset also has an audio cable that has a remote that can be used to make calls from non-wireless devices.
Pure ANC is a modified noise cancellation feature on Beats headphones. It promises to eliminate distortion in noisy environments, such as an overcrowded train station or a crowded office. The feature was tested using a variety of music genres. It was able reduce distracting noises to a light whooshing sound that didn't grate on the ears. However, we discovered that the sound of cars passing by was not eliminated and the reverberation of the subway tunnel was still present.
The beats studio3 wireless headphone is a great choice for those who want to separate their music from the noise around them. They are also light and have a comfortable fit that is comfortable even after prolonged wearing.
Battery life
Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones use a pair high-efficiency lithium batteries to deliver 22 hours of battery life even with active noise cancellation off. This is a decent amount of time, but not as much as the Bose QuietComfort 35 II or Sony WH-1000XM2.
Apple's W1 Bluetooth chip is utilized in the Beats Studio3 Wireless. This means that they pair up faster and are more reliable than other wireless headphones. They maintain their outstanding range and can be used away from your phone without losing signal. This is an enormous benefit for those who plan to do any traveling with headphones.
The Beats headphones come with a tough protective case, and the cable has an 3.5mm input to allow you to listen to music on devices that aren't wireless. The case folds flat and the cable has an inbuilt microphone and remote for taking calls.
The "b" logo is a multi-function button that can be found on the left ear cup. A single press will play or pause music and a double-press will skip to the next track. A triple-press will return to a previous song. Additionally you can tap this button to open the smart assistant on your phone.
The right ear cup houses the power button and five LED indicators that let you know the remaining battery. The lights aren't as clear as those on the ANC-enabled Bose models, but they provide an approximate idea of how much battery is left. By pressing the power button twice, you will turn on the active noise cancelling when it's off.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphone's design is specifically designed for iOS devices. This restricts their use on other platforms and renders the remote control integrated in the cord useless. They can be connected to Android phones, but you'll need to install an app from a third party in order to manage them. Apple's hard optimization might be a challenge for some users, especially those who intend to use the headphones on multiple devices. Beats could launch an updated version in the near future, which is compatible with other platforms.
Controls
The Studio3 Wireless headphones have a variety of features and, unlike other Beats headphone models, all of the buttons are located on the left (apart from the power button which is placed on the right). Pressing over the ear noise cancelling headphones on the left earcup once will stop or play music. Pressing it twice will skip to the next song and three times will return you to the previous track. You can also press and hold the logo to activate the smart assistant on your phone.
Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones are not only great for listening to music they also function as a noise cancelling pair. The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones use an in-ear microphone cup that is constantly monitoring the surrounding environment. Thanks to Apple's W1 chip as well as Beats audio processing, the adaptive noise cancellation is always on. The headphones can even adapt to your individual needs and fix leakage caused by glasses, hair and different ear shapes.
When you're not using your headphones, you can fold them and put them in a simple case that also doubles as a display. The case is durable and comes with an included cushioned pouch that makes it easier to store in your bag.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones can be linked to your device using Bluetooth. It's easy to set up. They can be used with any device that can support class 1 Bluetooth. This includes iPhone, iPad, Mac and many other devices. If you want to connect to something that isn't compatible with Bluetooth the left earcup has an input of 3.5mm input.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones offer exceptional sound in an elegant and comfortable design. The headphones come with Pure Adaptive Noise Cancellation and include a set of multi-functional buttons. They can be used to accept and make calls, select tracks and control volume. They're available in a vast variety of colors and can be purchased through the internet or any Beats retailer. For the price of these headphones there are other ANC options available on the market such as the Bose QuietComfort 35.
