Beats Studio3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Over Ear Headphones Review
Beats Studio3 wireless noise cancelling over ear headphones offer comfort with a premium feel and excellent audio quality. They also have excellent noise cancellation and battery life. They are compatible with iOS and Android devices, and are simple to connect.
The headphones come with Apple's W1 chip which makes them much easier to pair and switch between Apple devices. This is a big plus for Apple users.
Sound
The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones are quite a change from the headphone company's original model. The headphones are lighter and more comfortable with more sleek design and Pure Adaptive noise cancellation that reduces low frequency noise and helps you focus. There are also more features, including a built-in microphone that makes the headphones ideal for phone calls.
The sound quality is exactly what you'd expect from Beats headphones. They're not as bassy as Beats headphones, which have a bad reputation. The Studio3s are well-balanced and crisp with clear, crystal clear vocals and precise instrumentals.
The Studio2 Wireless are not as good as a pair of high-end headphones from Bose, but they're far superior. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is great for reducing background noise to leave you alone with your music, but it's not perfect. It's not as effective in blocking out the loud hum from a plane as a genuine ANC pair of headphones, and you will still hear some low-mid-frequency sound when ANC is disabled.
The Studio3s can be controlled via one central button located beneath the Beats logo, which is located on the left earcup. Pressing it once will play and pause your music. Double and triple presses allow you to skip tracks and then return. The button is surrounded by volume controls embedded in the ring of plastic.
If you're in the Apple ecosystem, these headphones will pair with your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad instantly and connect to iCloud devices. They can be used alongside other Bluetooth devices and switch between them with no delay in audio or visual. The Bluetooth connection is strong, with good range and no drops.
The Studio3s comes with a remarkable battery life. With ANC and wireless connectivity you can listen for 22 hours. This is more than twice the previous model. You can also use the 3.5mm plug to keep listening even after the battery has run out.
Design
The Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones look like they looked like a year ago, but are packed with the latest technology. Apple's W1 chip allows for effortless pairing and switching between iOS devices like an iPhone or iPad. The headphones are also quick charging. 10 minutes of power will give 3 hours of playback.
The headphones are made with an over-ear design that sits comfortably on the ears. They're available in Shadow Gray, Porcelain Rose, Matte Black, White Blue, Red and Shadow. The headset's ear cups are covered in soft cushions with the appearance of a rubbery. It may not be for everyone's tastes but it's comfortable for long periods of time. The headband is snug, but also soft and cushioned.
A small button on the left outer ear cup controls basic functions, such as accepting calls and playing music. The buttons above and below the Beats logo can alter the volume, and double tapping will advance the song or change tracks. The headset comes with a tiny multifunction button at the bottom, which can be used to turn off or on the headphones, activate ANC by two taps and put the headphones into pairing mode. The headset comes with an audio cable as well as a remote control that can be used for taking calls using non-wireless devices.
Pure ANC is a tweaked version of the noise cancellation available on Beats headphones that promises to remove distortion from noisy environments, such as the bustling train station or a bustling office. We tested the feature with an assortment of music from a variety of genres and found it capable of reducing distracting sounds to a light whooshing that didn't cause irritation to the ears. However, we found that the sound of cars passing by was not completely eliminated and the reverberation that comes from the subway tunnel was still present.
The beats studio3 wireless headphone is a great option for those who wish to separate their music from the noise around them. They are also extremely light and have a comfortable fit that feels comfortable after long periods of wearing.
Battery life
Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones use a pair high-efficiency lithium batteries that provide 22 hours of battery life, even with active noise cancellation off. This is a significant amount of time, but not as much as the Bose QuietComfort 35 II or Sony WH-1000XM2.
As one would expect as expected, the Beats Studio3 Wireless utilize Apple's W1 Bluetooth connectivity chip. This means they pair and connect faster than most wireless headphones. They're also able to maintain their excellent range and can be used far away from your smartphone without losing signal. This is a huge benefit for anyone who travels with headphones.
These Beats headphones come with a durable protective case, and the cable is equipped with an 3.5mm input to allow listening to music on non-wireless devices. The case folds flat, and the cable comes with an integrated remote and microphone to take calls.
The "b" logo is a multi-function button on the left earcup. A single press will play or pause music and a double-press will skip to the next track. A triple-press will rewind to a previous track. You can also press this button to access your phone's intelligent assistant.
The right earcup is home to the power button, as well as five LED indicators which let you know what battery life is left. The lights aren't as bright as those on Bose models with ANC, but they still give you a rough idea of how much power remains. Double-tapping the power button will turn on the active noise cancellation, when it's off.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphone's design is optimized for iOS devices. This limits their use on other platforms, which renders the remote control integrated in the cord useless. You can connect them to Android phones, but you'll have to install an application from a third-party to manage them. Apple's hard-optimization could be a problem for some users, particularly those who plan on using the headphones with a variety of devices. Beats could release an updated model in the near future, which is compatible with other platforms.
Controls
The Studio3 Wireless headphones are equipped with a variety of controls. In contrast to other Beats headphone designs most of them are on the left (apart from a power button on the right). By pressing the 'b' symbol on the left earcup once will stop or play music. By pressing it twice, you can skip to the next track. By pressing it three times, you can switch back to an earlier track. You can also press and hold the logo to activate the smart assistant on your phone.
Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones are not only perfect for listening to music, but they also act as a noise cancelling pair. The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones feature a microphone in each ear cup that is constantly monitoring the surrounding environment. With Apple's W1 chip as well as Beats audio processing the adaptive noise cancellation is always in place. The headphones will even adapt to your personal preferences and automatically correct for leakage caused by glasses, hair and ear shapes that differ.
If best budget noise cancelling headphones don't want to use your headphones, you can fold them in half and put them in a case that can double as an upright. The case is very sturdy and comes with a cushioned carry bag to help you fit it into your bag when you're traveling.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones are able to connect to your device via Bluetooth. It's simple to set up. They feature class 1 Bluetooth connectivity and will pair seamlessly with your iPhone, iPad, Mac or any other device that can support it. If you have to connect them to a device that does not support Bluetooth, there's an 3.5mm input on the bottom of the left ear cup.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless Headphones offer outstanding sound quality with a sleek and comfortable design. The headphones come with Pure Adaptive Noise Control, and include a set of multi-functional buttons. You can use them to accept and make calls, select tracks and adjust volume. These headphones are available in a range of colors and are available online or from any Beats retailer. For the price, there are other ANC options available on the market such as the Bose QuietComfort 35.
