Official Poker Rules: Learn The Basics Of The Game
There are many poker games, but the most popular and widely played are Omaha and Hold'em. Because it is the simplest and most straightforward way to explain how the game works, let me talk about Hold'em.

The flop is the next stage of the game. The dealer begins with burning a single card. This is when he deals the card to the discard pile. He then places three cards face-up at the table. These three cards are the flop.

Another round of bets takes place. This round starts with the player who happens to have highest cards showing. From the 4th street onwards, it is the player with the most cards showing that will continue to be the 1st bet.

Another term used during betting, checking is allowed when there are no pending bets on the table. You can ask the person to check if they don't want any money.

After the blinds have been paid each player is dealt four cards by the dealer. These cards are called a player's pocket or hole cards and must be kept secret from other players. Each player must use exactly two of these cards to compose their final 5-card poker hand. Players have the option of choosing which two of their four cards they want to use. They can also combine them with three or more of the five community cards in order to make their final 5-card poker hand.

After this, each player makes the best possible 5 card poker hand out of the 7 available cards. Each player can use any combination of the 2 cards in their hands and the five cards on the table. The pot is won if the highest ranked player wins. If two or more players have a similar value hand, then the pot gets split between them.

Once the betting card poker is complete, a fourth common card is dealt. This card is called "the turn" in poker. Betting players have again the option to check or raise, call, or fold.
