Fantasy in vicinity of Reality

the theme chosen consists of two important aspects in life, both reality and fantasy. Reality is the state or quality of something real, in other words, what is possible and true in this world. However, fantasy can be viewed from different ways or aspects. For instance, the meaning of fantasy found in the dictionary is imagination, especially when extravagant and unrestrained or even the forming of mental images, especially wondrous or strange fancies: imaginative conceptualizing. When I first began working on my SBAs I thought of fantasy as too big magical creatures such as dragons and fairies, or something that was out of this world, which is true. However, through my experience of exploring fantasy vs. reality as a theme, Ive learnt fantasy to have a wider meaning that just fairies. To me, I have realized fantasy to be something personal. Fantasy is something outside or apart from this world, and can be whatever someone perceives their "fantasy" to be , such as dream or aspiration.
My goal was to try to combine these two completely different aspects into one. At first, it could be easy to do this, as i only thought of fantasy in only way (magical creatures), but as i progressed, slowly learning the different directions and twists of fantasy to could be portrayed , it became difficult. There so many ways to look at fantasy not only from my point of view, but also looking other people's way of fantasy to them.
While creating my pieces , not only learning the perception of fantasy, I have also realized that I have grown the interest more in realistic things, than before when i began with more of a preference of fantasy-based aspects. I have learnt that i like to pay attention to detail on realistic items, where i would often become annoyed with myself if i had not made what i have drawn/painted as close to what i was trying to perceive.
I have been able to improve in different aspects in my art and I've learnt to never knock down the opportunity to try something new where it concerns my art. I realized to never be afraid to put my paint on page in fear of ruining my piece as that is what I used to do too often (being the usual perfectionist I am). If in the process of ruining what I've done , I could always learn from that experience and try again with mind set to improve.
