BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from adding keys or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system since it requires a correct PIN code to start the engine.

In contrast to other immobilisers, unlike other immobilisers, the Ghost doesn't use LED indications or key fobs. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you enter a unique disarming sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you've previously driven a BMW or used its stop-start feature you may have noticed the engine continues to run for 30 seconds after you have released the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system constantly monitoring your vehicle for signals from the ignition key, and when it is detected, it will continue to run. Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a unique next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding aftermarket alarm and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code that can be accessible via buttons in your car. This lets you enter key sequences that are not available in the normal menus for media. For example the volume up/down button, or source cruise control, air conditioning etc. The PIN is between 4 and 20 characters, making it very difficult for thieves to guess.

In addition to this we can also add a service or valet mode to the system. This is activated when the car is in for servicing to ensure that the Ghost remains hidden from the garage. This can be done by pressing the service button on your infotainment system five times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return the Ghost will automatically arm again.

Service / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a market leading immobiliser designed to stop your vehicle from being taken by key cloning and hacking. It works by using the vehicles factory buttons to create an unique sequence of pushes that only you know, much like pin code security on your mobile phone. It's incredibly discreet and quiet and dissuading even the most determined thieves from ever trying!

If you're parked at your home or in a meet and greet in a meeting and greet situation, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start the vehicle with your keys, but stops the engine from starting again until the correct code has been entered. This is perfect for customers who have to give their vehicles to valet services, or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you get the car into the garage for repairs, maintenance etc without worrying about it being damaged or stolen by a mechanic while you are waiting.

If the service/valet mode has been activated when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive once it has been turned on. This prevents anyone else from attempting to drive it while you're away. When you return, the car will be restored to normal operation and prevent it from being tampered or stolen again.

The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you need are the correct keys, as the device does not use the original remotes, but can be used with them. Anti-Hijack

Ghost created this discrete device that is unobtrusive and helps in battling the growing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It's designed to stop thieves from adding a new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your vehicle and then drive away. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to generate an unique push-sequence which must be entered before your engine can begin.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated the attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. The system will sharpen the horn flashing the indicators, and stop the vehicle when the code isn't found. The Anti-Hijack feature is cancelled by entering your push sequence, or by enabling service mode, which allows your car to temporarily begin and drive, without having to enter your PIN.

If you have a GPS device connected to your BMW and you want to use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to use your navigation system when the vehicle is stationary. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

You can also see your vehicle in real time on a map using your smartphone, which is ideal to track your car while moving around.

The Ghost can be installed under the dashboard, or within the centre console. It is completely concealed, tamperproof, and doesn't require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique PIN code is programmed into it. The pin code has to be entered before the vehicle starts. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system using a cloned or replaced ECU.

If your vehicle is taken away, the Ghost will go into service mode and stop all functions unless you have a PIN code or can use the mobile application to disable it. This feature was designed to safeguard your vehicle from high-tech thieves who employ relay boxes to take it. It will even stop the thieves from being able to use their mobile phones to activate your sat nav or mp3 player to locate your vehicle!

Ghost can also prevent "Relay-style Frequency Amplification". This is the most frequent way that a vehicle is being stolen with a key-fob that was copied or stolen via hacking. Ghost allows you to prevent this kind of theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle.
