The player aims for a badugi, a 4-card hand without any cards from the same suit and the same value or rank. An ace has the value of 1. However, a badugi doesn't guarantee a win as the other players have weaker badugi hands.
Another term used during rounds. More than just calling the bet of the person before him, a poker player can actually increase the amount by raising the bet. If he does, the other player will have to match or fold the raise.
A hand that contains two or more cards of the exact same value or from the identical suit can become a 3-2, 2-, or 1-card hand. If cards have the same values, one card will remain and the rest are discarded. Likewise, if there are two or more cards are from the same suit, only the one with the lowest value shall remain and the others shall be discarded.
