Joe Random who had been closing out games prior to his involvement in the starting rotation had a mixed career as their closer to say the least, that much changed as an SP. Since his debut as a starter two series from now, he has showcased his ability to go deep into games while minimizing the damage but his control remains an issue. His best start came recently, though as he completed a CG no-hitter against the Springfield Cardinals with 13K's, 4BB's though coming apart in his recent start with 4h, 8K's, 4BB, 2ER while going 7.0IP. His velocity has rose from 92 to 95 recently being his prefered, and main pitch to K a batter or get back into the count with though other then his fastball it's apparent that his his array of pitches is still fooling batters. So far, he has only made starts against the Tulsa Drillers and the Springfield Cardinals limiting the chances he has had for strong starts as of now.

He's showing promise as a prospect for the Diamondbacks currently within Double-A as a two-way player, while also retaining nearly a .490 batting avg with lots of power. While he's not the fastest either, he runs often further extending the threat he can be on the basepaths mainly utilizing big leads serving to further question his role as an All-star. Another upside comes in his defense when playing RF, as of yet he's shown himself to have good range with sliding catches here and there with a decent arm.
