Definitions.
1.)Digestion: refers to the breakdown of large insoluble food molecules into small water-soluble food molecules so that they can be absorbed into the watery blood plasma.
2.)Absorption: is the process of taking nutrients from food in the digestive system into the blood so they can be used in the body.
3.)Carbohydrates: refers to food containing a lot of sugar, starch, cellulose that can be broken down to release energy in the human body.
Functions Of Carbohydrates:
a.)Body’s primary source of energy and the brain’s preferred energy source.
b.)Sparring the use of proteins for energy.
