Mystic Dr. Strange Costume
Doctor Strange, Master of Mystic Arts and Sorcerer Supreme is the most popular choice of Marvel fans looking to cosplay. His costumes, however, are very specific and take a lot to get right.


So, costume designer Alexandra Byrne created an origami of designs that reflect Stephen Strange's emotional journey to enlightenment and true power.



The Classic


Doctor Strange, the mystical superhero in Marvel Cinematic Universe, is popular with people who love the series. As Master of the Mystic Arts, he defends the Earth from dangers of interdimensional dimensions. The character began his career as surgeon for neurosurgeons before searching for an answer to his physical ailments and becoming a sorcerer. His mysterious costume is a blend of classic elements of superheroes and Tibetan/Nepalian monk's attire.


The tunic is a combination of dark blue, a broad belt, and a sash to create an exotic and mysterious look. The cloak provides a sense of strength and elegance to the character.


This traditional Doctor Strange costume works well for cosplay and Halloween. It's easy to put together. It comes with a the dark blue turtleneck and matching trousers, and a black hair. Doctor Strange Costume can also add a pair of dark boots and the Eye of Agamotto pendant necklace to complete the look. This is the look to wear when you need to scare your trick-or-treaters or family members.


Silver Age


When the Marvel Universe has recovered from its gritty tumult in the late 1990s, it saw a return of some of the most extravagant designs. Doctor Strange is an excellent illustration.


Stan Lee and Steve Ditko Steve Ditko and Stan Lee created him. The first time he appeared was as the Sorcerer the supreme in Strange Tales #10 (cover dated July 1963), protecting Earth from the mystical and magical dangers. His modern costume is a reaction and refraction of his initial look, but with the addition of the Cloak of Levitation.


The trenchcoat and black turtleneck are reminiscent of the street style of magicians like John Constantine and Mad Eye Moody. The look is still efficient, even if he no long wears the cloak that he is famous for. The subtle message conveys the change occurring inside Stephen Strange.


The Earth-TRN196


Being one of the most active characters of the Marvel Universe, Doctor Strange regularly makes appearances across different realities and alternate timelines. The master of the Mystic arts wears his cloak in several ways within these pockets dimensions.


This rendition of Doctor Strange from the Earth-TRN196 pocket dimension evokes South Asian fantasy with a mohawk bead, beads, and cushioned armor. A ring of LEDs in green light up the Eye of Agamotto to add a bit of magic to this unique costume.


In the eighties, Doctor Strange forwent his ranic robes in favor of simple, more casual attire that echoed Nepalese monk's clothing. The more subdued form of the sorcerer's appearance, although short-lived in its appearance, allowed him to regain the sense of his controlled extravagantness.



In the MU that was the case, Doctor Strange used an augmented technology to alter his body to that of Jamie Madrox the mutant who could come back to life at any time. The resultant appearance is a mixture of Silver Age spandex and the astral aesthetics of the afterlife.


The Ghostly


In the multiverse, there aren't many more mystically inclined superheroes as Doctor Strange. While he's served as an Avenger and Defender, his ultimate role is that of Sorcerer Supreme. It's a role which he plays with grace in this limited-edition series by Brian K. Vaughan and Marcos Martin, a fan-favorite that deserves a spot on your bookshelf.


In terms of his attire, this one is an elegant and effective riff on Ditko's original. A dark blue tunic and trousers are layered over a kimono-style robe, which is covered by the Cloak of Levitation. The waistband is an incredibly wide belt and it's all finished off with a sling-ring sling and an Eye of Agamotto pendant necklace. It's an easy look to put together and is a great option for your next Halloween cosplay party.
