Crytek is a company known for its stunning graphics for first-person shooters, is joining forces with DeNA to join the free-to-play mobile game space with The Collectables.
The Collectables uses a modified Crytek engine. It features everything you would expect from a game powered by Crytek "intense fighting, extreme gunfights and 3D battlefields. Classic larger-than-life heroes are also included to provide gamers an unbeatable gaming experience on mobile devices." Pre-orders of the game will be able to access an in-game character that has limited-time gear.
There's currently no word about when The Collectables should debut, though Crytek and DeNA expect to bring it available in 2014.
Crytek and DeNA to Bring Blockbuster Action to Mobile Gamers with The Collectables
San Francisco (USA), Frankfurt am Main (Germany) 11 December 2013, Crytek has teamed up with DeNA the world's biggest mobile games firm to develop The Collectables, its first free-to play mobile game.
The Collectables is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices via the mobile gaming platform of DeNA Mobage. It has stunning graphics inspired by Crytek's CRYENGINE technology. The game is a combination of combat and strategy in which players lead a group of soldiers who are a bit out of the norm in missions around the world.
"DeNA offers the best experience in mobile gaming and we're delighted to work together to bring you The Collectables," stated Paha Schulz (Director of Business Development, Games-as-a-Service, Crytek). "The Collectables is the first mobile game that utilizes Crytek's cutting-edge 3D game technology CRYENGINE.
The Collectables features over-the-top gunfights as well as classic action heroes. Players can create teams with different soldiers, and then upgrade their weapons and skills to go into combat. With diverse enemy types to fight with, game-changing rewards that you can unlock and immersive 3D battlegrounds to conquer, The Collectables will keep everyone coming back to the front line when it's released in 2014.
Pre-registration for The Collectables will notify players when the game becomes available for download at no cost.
