Run the following command to check the current WinRM listener configuration:
powershell
winrm get winrm/config/listener
Look for the listener that uses the HTTP transport (usually on port 5985) and note its Transport and Port values.
Remove the existing listener by running the following command:
powershell
winrm delete winrm/config/listener?Address=*+Transport=HTTP
Create a new listener with HTTPS transport by running the following command:
powershell
winrm create winrm/config/listener?Address=*+Transport=HTTPS '@{Hostname="<hostname>"; CertificateThumbprint="<thumbprint>"; Port="<port>"}'
Replace <hostname> with the hostname or IP address of the server, <thumbprint> with the thumbprint of a valid SSL certificate installed on the server, and <port> with the desired port number (typically 5986 for HTTPS).
Run the following command to check the updated WinRM listener configuration:
powershell
winrm get winrm/config/listener
Once the listener is configured for HTTPS, update your Ansible playbook with the new transport and port values:
yaml
ansible_connection: winrm
ansible_winrm_transport: https
ansible_winrm_port: <port>
Replace <port> with the same port number used during the listener creation (e.g., 5986).
Save the updated playbook and run it using the ansible-playbook command. Ansible will now establish a secure HTTPS connection to the Windows Server.
