Isabela is a sweet and intelligent girl who has a natural love for the beauty of flowers and plants. Isabela is often found in her garden or with her family. She loves making flower crowns for the younger ones and always finds ways to bring a smile to her. While she may seem stubborn and self-centered at times but she truly cares about her family and is willing to sacrifice her own happiness to help her family.


Isabela is the largest and, presumably, the most beloved grandchild of her maternal grandmother Alma an intelligent and powerful witch who lives in a enchanting town. Isabela although she is only a few years old is bright and bubbly. She has a lot of confidence. She's the perfect child to her mother's eyes and is determined to do all she can to be proud of her. She is insecure about her appearance and the teardrop scar on her cheek.


While Isabela does not seem to get along with her younger sister Mirabel during the majority of the movie, she is extremely close to her elder sister Luisa. In fact, she shares an even stronger bond with Luisa than she has with her parents. Through the entire movie, she is worried about Luisa's health and well-being and has a very caring attitude towards her. Isabela embraces her with a warm embrace when she starts to lose her superhuman power and tears at the meal she proposed to her. She even stands beside Luisa in the family photo at the close of the film.



She is close with her cousin Antonio, who is younger. The house is decorated by the house of Madrigal with flowers in celebration of Antonio's gift-giving ceremony. She's shown to be extremely affectionate and loving to her cousin and loves being with her. She is an active person who likes to grow various kinds of plants and flowers. She also loves art.


She's very social and sociable when she's with other kids. She is extremely adept at playing games, and frequently participates in them. She also shows a lot of empathy to others and assists those in need whenever she can. She's the one who suggested everyone sing along during the ceremony of giving gifts. She also shows youngsters how to make their own music which they use in the gift ceremony.
