Asking Alexandria Plaques
Anyone who's been following the metal band Asking Alexandria may have noticed the latest track "Never Ever Gonna Learn" has whistling. The track is on their new album Find What's On the Inside. Although the method may not be unique for a rock song, Asking Alexandria is known for their aversion to commercialization.
The band been presented with the first of its gold plaques, for digital sales. The plaques were part of the RIAA "Pathways to Platinum" program, which was designed to give musicians a clear picture of their song's performance and help them become certified.
These plaques are given to bands that have reached significant milestones, such as their first gold-certified a digital single. Asking Alexandria has achieved millions of digital downloads and online streams across the US. If the band continues to enjoy the success of other markets, they might add another plaque to their collection.
This is especially true considering the fact that it only came out two weeks ago. It already has over five million streams on Spotify by itself. It has even reached the top of charts in several countries which makes it a popular choice for those who love it. The group hopes the momentum will carry on to their next album in 2022.

It's still a decent album, but it is quite a distance from their earlier, more violent work. There are some highlights, though. Songs such as Lost Souls and Undivided do an excellent job of mixing metal with more melodic elements, and the title track is particularly frenzied in its performance. It's not difficult to believe that the album was designed to follow a certain formula rather than create an entirely new Asking Alexandria record.
