Haim Merch to celebrate the holidays
Haim's return to the Hollywood Bowl last weekend felt like a block party first and a rock 'n' roll celebration secondarily. It's a big venue for any band, but one that's centered around three sisters. It was the kind of unfailing grace and mutual respect that has made Those Canter's Girls feel like a group of sisters.


However https://www.haimmerch.com/ underlying level of anticipation has developed over the band's brief but intense career. What do you do when you go about following up a debut album which was widely praised for its fluidity, the sense of community and more importantly, its an unflinching honesty?


Haim has discovered a way to achieve both. Women in Music Pt. the latest album is a prime example of this. The third album is bolder and more varied than their previous album, but it has that basic quality that made Haim such a sensation.


The journey to this latest iteration of the band started this summer as Haim reverted to a laidback approach to recording in the studio writing and recording singles as they went. The members of the band sat down on "Forever Girl,"" an ode to their childhood friends. Danielle expressed her gratitude for Rechtshaid's cancer battle on "Summer Girl," the saxophone-infused song that pays tribute to Lou Reed. And Alana, Este and Alana explored the different challenges they face in "Hallelujah," a reverent song.


While Something To Tell You is still dependent on the sisters' extensive knowledge of classic rock riffage, they have learned to hold those elements lightly and let them float with their own unique stride. The looser, more fluid style is well-suited to them.



Women in Music Pt. III could alienate listeners who prefer one style over another. III might alienate those who prefer one genre over the other. That's most likely to be an interesting risk in the sole enjoyment of hearing the sisters stretch their legs and discover their musical musculature in this manner.


It's a good thing that the band has created some merch to let their fans celebrate the holiday season, including an edgy "Happy Haimukkah" long sleeve that benefits a worthy cause. The t-shirt is available here, in addition to other items in their holiday capsule. The sisters also participate in the #StandWithHim Campaign, which helps victims of the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting. Proceeds from the sale of shirts as well as other merchandise will be donated to the Tree of Life Synagogue Fund.
