Asst. Insurance Agents - An Introduction
West Virginia has a state-sponsored West Virginia Insurance Department. The Department is required by law to regulate the insurance industry. Here is some information you might find interesting about insurance in West Virginia.

The State of West Virginia Insurance Department requires all employees working in their office to have the required reporting fee. Your state education course includes the required $1.50/hour mandatory reporting fee. Once you complete your training at the Department of Insurance, you must then pass an exam to become licensed to practice in the State of West Virginia. West Virginia Insurance Commission ID: 102093, & 102094 This exam is one of the most thorough examinations in the entire nation. It has multiple choice questions with essay sections. There are also multiple choice questions concerning business insurance. After passing the exam, you will become licensed and able to offer your services in West Virginia.

You can begin to provide insurance services as soon as you have passed your certification from the West Virginia Insurance Commission. This is called the Professional Risk Assurance Program or PRIA.

The West Virginia Insurance Department is one of the most regulated and detailed departments in the United States. In order to become licensed as a West Virginia Insurance Agent, you must complete a five-hour course offered by the Department of Insurance and pass their exam. cheap insurance must then become licensed as a West Virginia Insurance Broker in order to offer your services in this field in the state of West Virginia.

There are also two levels of Insurance Agents available for you to choose from. The first level is an Associate of Science in Insurance or ASI. The second level is an Associate of Science in Insurance Brokers (ASI-B).

The second level is a program that takes two years to complete and gives you the necessary experience and training to be licensed as an Insurance Broker and become an Insurance Agent. There is a minimum of four years of study needed for an Associate of Science in Insurance Brokers program, but up to six years for an Associate of Science in Insurance Agents program.

If you choose the Associates of Science in Insurance program, you will be required to take an exam and pass it in order to become licensed as an Insurance Agents. When your degree has been completed, you will become an "As an Asst" or Registered Insurance Agent. You will be given a license and be able to market and sell insurance in the state of West Virginia, but cannot begin to work as an Insurance Agent until your certification has been renewed with the State.

Once your certification is renewed, you will be able to accept calls from clients and begin to work as an insurance agent. Becoming an Asst in Insurance agents program, requires four years of education and experience. This is the minimum amount of time that an Insurance Agent needs in order to become an Asst. Insurance Agent, so you must have a high school diploma or GED in order to be considered for this position.

Insurance Agents are required to get their certifications renewed every two years. The two-year period allows them to maintain their certification while they are working and continue to build on their knowledge. You can renew your certification every two years at any local area insurance agency that offers insurance classes.

After your certification has been renewed, you will be able to apply to become a member of the Asst. Insurance Agents program and become a licensed insurance agent.
