New Orleans rap duo $uicideBoy$ have paved their own path in the world of rap by introducing their dark, sexy style and violent themes. The twins ($krim and Ruby Da Cherry), who self-released their songs online initially but gained a lot of attention following their debut EP Kill Yourself Part I : The $uicide Story, debuted in 2014. The duo's style and look are reminiscent of the Big Easy's old school voodoo traditions, complete with scary images from movies and dark black occult symbols.
Their explorations in sonics are as diverse as their names, draw upon a variety of genres to form their own sound. After focusing on their production, they had a break of a few years from singing. In the year 2018, I Want To Die In New Orleans showcased their catchy flow and slick poetry. It's not their best work, but it is definitely a solid release that shows what they can accomplish when they stick to their rapping.
The brothers both have an extensive history of music, and they experimented with various genres before becoming hip-hop's most prominent artists. Both brothers were innovating and self-driven, so the transition was natural for them. Their musical styles have matured since they started, but their smooth lyrics and hard-hitting beats are still.
