Jill was very near her family, specifically her nephew and niece, Oliver and Gina. She played a lot of golf with Oliver when he was just starting out as a keen golfer, and exposed him to the love of Art and Design. Gina additionally attended ballet and classical music live shows with Jill and my late mom on numerous occasions, and so they shared a love of literature, current occasions and the British Royal Family. Jill also had a love of Pekingese canine, which is unmatched by anybody. After finishing her thesis, she returned to Durban and became the Curator of the Durban Art Gallery. This post she held for many years and was then promoted to be the Director of the Durban Art Gallery.
