BTS, a K-Pop boy band with a global reputation, is the first to have entered the US Billboard Hot 100. They were featured in the major US media, and they performed at American Music Awards. Due to their growing popularity, many fans started creating bt21 products and selling them online. The BT21 character, originally created by the Korean message app LINE Friends and the band in collaboration, has also been incorporated into a range of merchandise.
The bt21 collection includes mugs and passport cases as well as clothing. The merchandise is based on the personalities of each member. bt21plush and Shooky have been popularized by the band's BT21 character, as well as Chimmy, Van, Cooky, Van, Cooky, and Van. These characters have also been made into animated shorts and cartoons for kids, as well a series video games.
The band's fans also create their own unofficial merchandise as a way to show their support for the group. Fans have created t-shirts with BT21 characters, hoodies and backpacks. Some of them have become collectors' items, and they can be bought on online ecommerce websites.
Uniqlo has released a collection of t-shirts with the BT21 character. These shirts are available in many colors and styles, with each character featured. One shirt features "Cosmic Hazard" while another has a picture and text of Shooky.
Uniqlo sells these tees on its website as well as in certain stores throughout South Korea. Also, they are sold in Japan. Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand. In the future, merchandise from this line will be available in many other countries.
In New York City, a flagship shop opened on December 16 to celebrate the launch of BT21 character merchandise. In the futuristic, space themed area, customers can see Mega Van, as well as BT21 character products like dolls, cushions and t-shirts. The LED billboards in Times Square show BT21 clips.
New York's flagship store will be the first BT21 launch outside Asia. More locations are expected in Europe and the United States. BoonTheShop is selling the BT21 brand in Seoul. It will be available soon in Japan, Taiwan Hong Kong and Bangkok.
