Music
Khruangbin is a group of Houston musicians made up of DJ Speer, Lee Johnson and Ariane ochoa. They play a mellow sound that is packed with groove and influences from Thai rock, funk and Thai traditional soul. The band's debut album, the Universe Smiles Upon You released in the year 2015, was voted "New Band of the Week" by The Guardian and opened for acts such as Father John Misty, Tycho, Chicano Batman, and Massive Attack. Tours
The Houston-based psychedelic soul group Khruangbin are a live act to reckon with. The group is comprised of bassist Laura Lee, guitarist Mark Speer as well as drummer Donald "DJ" Johnson, they've toured around the world numerous times and performed on almost every major festival stage.
Their captivating, enigmatic live shows are nothing less than thrilling. In addition, their blend with world music is among the most exciting and unique music that is currently on the market. The Texans have a diverse tracklist and influences that are as diverse as the music they play. They're a band with a sound which will appeal to all kinds of music lovers.
The band recently expanded the tour they announced in March - that already featured two nights at Radio City Music Hall and Festival appearances - into a full-fledged North American tour that runs through July with Toro y Moi and Men I Trust as support. khruangbin merch will be available for purchase on the 12th of November, on Friday.
