According to an act titled Sixteenth Congress of the Republic of the Philippines (2015), there is a penalty stated that if the jeepney drivers have caused an offense, they will receive a punishment such as for the first offense, they shall be fined five hundred pesos if they did not stop at their designated stops. They will be penalized one thousand five hundred pesos for the second infraction, and their license will be re-booked for the third offense. As a result, they must abide by all rules and regulations. Furthermore, they must understand all passengers, even if they failed to pay the fare because there are no regulations stating that jeepney drivers may sue passengers if they don't or forget to pay.
