Minecraft: Java edition for LINUX
This should install all necessary dependencies for Debian or similar distributions like Ubuntu. If your environment does not have a graphic installer for packages, you can install the package from the terminal as follows:
apt-get install Minecraft.deb
On Arch and Arch based distributions the package is available as minecraft-launcher from the AUR. AUR is a repository that is used by the community for packages. The Arch Wiki has more information about how to make use of it.

* Internet connection is required for the first game launch. However, you are able to continue playing offline with no problems.
