Notch announced that Minecraft beta update 1.5 will bring precipitation to the game via a series of tweets this morning. This could have potential gameplay implications such as watering crops and lighting fires, filling small holes, and even moistening the wolves. By the way, "Moistening Wolves" is the full name of our upcoming, indie noise-rock band.
Notch also included a photo that shows the weather effects in two border biomes. This is a glimpse into a fantasy world where distinct rain systems hang out and be allies.
