The Phoenix Suns are a team that has a loyal following despite not winning an NBA title. The Phoenix Suns have formed many business relationships and are looking to take advantage of Arizona's legalization of sports betting, as well a new arena name rights deal with Verizon.
Suns fans were thrilled to hear about the addition of Kevin Durant. The addition of Kevin Durant is a huge boost for the Suns franchise which has been struggling since star point guard Devin Booker left to join the Los Angeles Clippers back in 2021. The Suns had the second-best regular season record in the Western Conference but fell to the Golden State Warriors at the NBA playoffs semifinals.
Amar'e Stoudemire, Steve Nash and other young Suns players built around the free-agent signings made it to the Western Conference Finals in 2009-10 before losing to Los Angeles Lakers after six games. The Suns, however, were no longer competitive and went on to have a series of losing seasons.
The Suns had a much better season in 2020-21 with Devin Booker, a sharpshooter, and seasoned players such as Jame Crawford, Markieff Moris, and Chris Paul. For the first time in 2010, the team made it to the playoffs and swept the Los Angeles Clippers. The Suns' first season with Durant was impressive, even though they lost to the eventual Golden State Warriors semifinals.
The Suns have recently launched a new line of merchandise, Valley Threads. It was designed in collaboration by local streetwear company Modern Rockstars. Three different tees are available that reflect the history and culture of the city. These tees come in both men's and woman's sizes as well as toddler and youth shirts. During their fan appreciation weeks, the Suns will give away tee shirts to fans. Phoenix Suns are doing an excellent job marketing their products, but they have not kept up with modern gameday operations. The Phoenix Suns don't seem to care anymore about their fans, whether it is that they run out of paper towel in the bathrooms or try to force you to buy CP3 Bobbleheads on their website. It's good to know that basketball is still fun to watch. I wish that the organization would learn from other teams, and do more than hand out magnet schedules.
