Augmented reality mobile game Minecraft Earth is shutting down in June, developer Mojang Studios announced this morning.

"Minecraft Earth was designed around free movement and collaborative play, two things that have become near impossible in the current global situation," the official announcement reads. "We have made the difficult decision that we will re-allocate resources to other areas of significance to the Minecraft community, and also to stop support for Minecraft Earth in June 2021."
A game that is based on exploring the world, it seems Minecraft Earth didn't fare well during the ongoing covid-19 pandemic which has stopped prospective players from playing in public. The game isn't playing at ease into the night. The update today will stop real-money transactions. This makes it easier to play the game, while keeping your safe inside. Anyone who signs up for Minecraft Earth between now & June 30 will receive a collection of character creator items.

After June 30, Minecraft Earth will be not available for download. Mojang promised to all customers who have paid real money for Minecraft a copy of Minecraft as a token of appreciation.
