Looney Tunes Shirt
Looney Tunes Shirt is an American cartoon series of short comedy films produced by Warner Bros. from 1930 until 1969, and its sister series Merrie Melodies, during the golden decade of American animation. Both were among the most popular animated films that were in theaters at that time. They had a broad range of characters, including Bugs Bunny (and his friends), Daffy Duck, Yosemite, Sam, Porky, Tweety, Sylvester and Road Runner.






Looney Tunes is not only known for its theatrical cartoons. It has also influenced a number of television series as well as feature film releases, and direct-to video releases. There are amusement parks, rides, comic books as well as music albums. The characters are cultural icons and many of the shorts have been named among the best cartoons ever created. Two of them (Sinkin' in the Bathtub and For Scent-imental Reasons) received Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film. In 1996, Space Jam, a live-action/animated film featuring Bugs Bunny and basketball player Michael Jordan, was released to great success at the box office and is considered as the top-grossing non-Disney animated feature in history.





Leon Schlesinger Productions was the studio behind the short films that were used in the Looney Tunes, Merrie Melodies and other series. The animators team was directed by Tex Avery and Bob Clampett. They were soon joined by animators who were new such as Richard Chase, John Kricfalusi and Joe Murray, who added modernity to the animation. The first short in color was A Wild Hare in 1940 which was followed by Buckaroo Bugs in 1944 and Puss n' Booty in 1943. In 1947, Schlesinger decided to discontinue the black-and white shorts, opting instead for the new color options under the Blue Ribbon Classics label.





Production of Looney Tunes's theatrical animated cartoons went for a while, until 1969 When a set of new shorts were created in order to introduce the characters to new audiences. They were released as regular theatrical releases while others were combined with films that were geared towards families produced by the studio. The shorts were made on a regular basis throughout the 1990s, however, they were used as promotional tie-ins to different Warner Bros. films and television shows.
