Looney Tunes Shirt
Looney Tunes Shirt has evolved into a multi-media empire, which includes numerous television movies, shows and music albums, as well as comics, amusement park rides, and other merchandise. The franchise is the flagship of Warner Bros. and includes many well-known characters, including Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. Other characters with a cult following are Tweety, Sylvester and Foghorn Leghorn.





The characters first made an appearance in the theatrical shorts that were animated by Warner Bros. starting with 1930's Sinkin' in the Bathtub in the Bathtub, and extending to 1969's Injun Trouble. The production of theatrical shorts stopped until 1979, when Tweety made an appearance in the Taz Mania cartoon series.





Following the retirement of Mel Blanc in 1985, the production of a lot of these characters came to a conclusion. However, in the 1990s, several Looney Tunes characters were introduced in the TV show Tiny Toon Adventures and its spinoffs. In the same decade, the revival of interest for Looney Tunes characters led to launch of the live-action film Space Jam, which starred Bugs Bunny and basketball player Michael Jordan.





Other theatrical and non animated films have included Looney Tunes characters, such as 1996's Who Framed Rabbit? The film was a box office hit, with many classic characters making cameos (including Bugs and Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, Tweety and Sylvester).





In the early 2000s, the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies brand name was revived with a line of animated DVDs, as well as the release of a theatrically-released movie called The Looney Tunes Movie. During this resurgence of popularity it was also popular with younger audiences through its characters appearing on the TV shows Taz-Mania and The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries.






As of 2022, a total of 102 animated theatrical Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies shorts have been released. Film historians and critics have deemed a number of these shorts as the greatest in history. Also, two of these films (Knighty Knight Bugs and For Scent-imental Reasons) have been awarded Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature.





The most popular of the Looney Tunes characters is Bugs Bunny, which has resulted in a variety of merchandise products based on him and other characters in the franchise. Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and other characters have also been inducted on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.





They have appeared in several guest appearances on other television programs and films that include feature length films, such as The Cat's Meow and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Additionally, the characters have also appeared as mascots in the Marriott's Great America theme parks in Gurnee and Santa Clara, as well as on Six Flags amusement park rides. Marvel Comics has even featured the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies characters in their universe of superheroes as characters in the Fantastic Four and Hulk.
