1. The unit discusses the importance of good posture, both while standing and sitting. What happens when you have good posture? Can you think of some potentially harmful effects that poor posture may have on your body? Briefly explain the effects that you come up with.
When you have good posture, your spine is "neutral" and resting in a comfortable, natural position, not to rounded or arched. Some harmful effects that poor posture may have on your body are back pain, nerve constriction and subluxation. Back pain can be very annoying and super uncomfortable. Bad posture causes chronic back pain because of "disc degeneration, simply from the excess pressure being suffered by the spine". Due to having bad posture, the spine and other bones start to change their position. "The skeleton system begins to come into contact with surrounding nerves and "pinch" them". The pinched nerves are the cause of neck, back and other body part pain.

2. The unit claims that you can increase the challenge of your workouts by using Newton’s first law of motion. We are given the example of running on sand or biking on gravel. What are some other ways that you can use Newton’s first law to create a more challenging workout? When you change the terrain, what is that force called?
Another way that you can use Newton's first law to create a more challenging workout is using a resistance band. Some people might not find resistance bands helpful but using those will put more pressure which might make you feel the workouts more challenging. "When it comes to motion, objects are resistant to change and will keep on doing what they're doing unless they encounter and unbalance force, something that affects the movement"

3. How would Newton’s second law of motion impact the fitness routine of someone who is significantly overweight? Is there any type of fitness activity that a significantly overweight person could do where Newton’s second law of motion would not be a factor?
Newton's second law of motion would impact the fitness routine of someone who is significantly overweight because more force would be needed to accelerate an object. Walking more can be a fitness activity overweight people can use while also of course drinking plenty of water.

4. Body Mechanics are important for health and fitness, but they also impact sports performance. Paying close attention to how it feels when you are performing a movement can give you physical feedback about your body mechanics---this is called proprioception. How can teachers, trainers, or fellow sports participants help an athlete understand their body mechanics in motion to improve performance? Discuss one individual sport or activity and how others can assist a participant to improve body mechanics, and therefore, performance. You could use swimming, track and field, dance, tennis, or any other individual or dual fitness activity.
Teacher, trainers, or fellow sports participants can help an athlete understand their body mechanics in motion to improve performance by giving them information and helping them with their posture and everything. Swimming for example, a coach can study the swimmer's body position and let him/her know what to do so they can improve.

5. Exercise is a healthy way to reduce stress that many people find helpful. What are some unhealthy methods that people may use to try to cope with high levels of stress? Why are these unhealthy stress-reduction attempts ultimately unsuccessful in lowering stress?
Many people, mostly young adults tend to use drugs, alcohol and many other things to try to cope with high level of stress. These are very unhealthy ways because they are basically ruining their health and it will eventually harm them later on in the future.
