The phrase, "Let's go Brandon", has been repeated by politicians and chanted during football matches. What exactly does this phrase mean? The slang is actually a replacement for the phrase "f--- Joe Biden". Members of Congress are even wearing it on their clothing.

It was first used in October 2021 by a NASCAR racing driver at Talladega Superspeedway. It spread quickly on social networks, where it became a popular way to express disapproval of the president. Two middle schoolers have filed a lawsuit claiming that their school district has violated their right to free speech by banning sweatshirts with this slogan. Let's Go Brandon represents the latest chapter in a longstanding battle about how schools must balance free expression rights with other concerns, such as safety. The suit may set a new precedent in terms of how much free speech a district is allowed to give its students. This is especially true now that President Trump, and other political figures are so vocal.
