Originally formed in 1995 in the mid-western US city of Des Moines, Slipknot is one of the most renowned Nu Metal bands ever. Their message of anarchic chaos and alternative expression has been embraced by fans around the world and is still as relevant today as it was back then. The band’s 9 members each sporting a mask are synonymous with Slipknot and the iconic image has become an important symbol of the band. The masks have a range of different interpretations, from the disturbing to the tongue-in-cheek humorous and are an essential part of Slipknot merch.
