Health reform is occurring now and people have plenty of questions. The focus, now, is on fighting over what policies and options should be. But, being check here in the field for quite some time I can tell you that regardless of the kind of health reform that ends up being law, consumers should take more responsibility for his or her own care. I support reform and believe only good will come of it. But, currently, consumers are ill-informed of the knowledge they will need to posses to help get good care. This can be a major advantage for social networks. Consumers can learn and educate themselves through the knowledge of others. The info can be shared almost instantly. It could also be considered a type of informal health exchanges. The options could be endless.

The main problem with passing information through internet sites is that it's susceptible to rumor and misinformation. That is true with the internet generally. Currently, few real experts actively participate in a number of these networks and misinformation is often left un-challenged. Without proper education and knowledge, networking about health could possibly be more trouble than it really is worth.
